What we store about you

Your data lives in your own Google Contacts. We store only your billing status. In full, that is:

  • Your Stripe customer id
  • The email address you paid with
  • Which plan you are on, and its allowance
  • A one-way hash of your Karot key - never the key itself
  • Created, updated and claimed timestamps, and whether the key is revoked

That is the complete list. No contacts, no notes, no relationship history, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers. Household members are stored only as a hash of their email address. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. See the privacy policy for the whole picture.

Things worth saying plainly

  • Subscriptions are sold here, on the web. The apps have no purchase screen. Sign in with the same Google account and the app picks up your plan.
  • Cancel any time from Stripe's billing portal. When a subscription ends you drop back to Free - nothing is deleted, because we were never holding it.
  • The free tier is not a trial. Contacts, reminders and passive tracking cost us nothing to run, so they stay free.
  • Prices are grandfathered. If the price rises, it does not rise for people who already subscribed.
