Karot
Coming soon
Your friendships, tended like a garden
Karot is a friendship app for Android, Chrome and iPhone that reminds you to stay in touch and suggests what to talk about. It keeps its data in your own Google Contacts and uses no AI.
Karot (Armenian: կարոտ, pronounced kah-ROTE) means longing, the ache of missing someone.
Every friend gets a plant. It grows while you stay in touch, and wilts when you drift.

How your garden works
Plant a friend
Add someone to a Karot label in Google Contacts and they arrive as a seed packet.
Tend it
Keep to the rhythm your label sets and the seed sprouts, stands fresh, then blooms.
Moments bloom
Birthdays and anniversaries show up on the plant as a candle, weeks before they arrive.
When you drift
The plant leans, then dries, and one quiet note says who needs water.
Nothing here is scored, ranked or compared, and nothing dies — a quiet plant simply rests.
See it in the app
A friend for every plant, and a quiet nudge when one needs water.
No friendship ends on purpose — it gets skipped, one week at a time.
Your friends’ details live in your own Google Contacts, not on a server we run.
Karot records who you talked to and when, never what was said, and this page has no trackers or cookies.
